Greetings from Denver! To give you the brief low-down, Denver Urban Semester- this adventure that I'm on-centers around the following:
(1) education- we take two classes centered around social justice and God's heart for the poor
(2) community- the 9 of us are living and sharing life together
(3) internship- we all have separate volunteer internships with local non-profits who are working on behalf of the urban poor. My internship is with a faith-based organization called Dry Bones. All I know at this point is that they serve homeless teens, and I'm sold! I'll tell you more about it soon.
I just moved in this morning. Our house is a 5 minute run from Denver City Park. Today I'm getting acclimated and tomorrow I'll start my internship. BTW, I left my camera cord at home so I won't have any pics until I get that, except ones I steal from the internet:)
